Empowering Women through Educational Scholarships
Today’s scholarship recipients are tomorrow’s leaders. ABWA members have provided opportunities for women to achieve their personal and professional best by championing educational opportunities through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF). Since 1953, SBMEF has awarded almost 18 million dollars in scholarships to more than 17,000 women. To learn more about available scholarships, go to sbmef.org.
Member Spotlight: Dana Schmuk
This month, we are spotlighting one of our newer members, Dana Schmuck, who describes herself as an over-thinking, anxious, social introvert and trauma survivor, with a passion for mental wellness, and educating through content creation. Dana and her husband, a marine veteran, own Semper-Fi Solar, and run a 30 acre “funny farm” south of Lubbock with their two teen daughters. Dana has been such a force for positivity and joy since joining the Lubbock Area Lights Chapter of ABWA!
